When travelling, people tend to carry items that may pose a serious risk to the aircraft or other persons travelling without serious intent to harm others. As a responsible Airport operator, we are duty bound to ensure that you are advised on what you may not carry when checking-in for a flight or carrying on you as hand luggage.
Please read the following below carefully to avoid being searched additionally for carrying such items or the items being confiscated due to the new security requirements that now govern air travel.
Following items must not be carried in cabin baggage but are permitted in checked luggage:
Knives, sharp objects or cutting implements of any kinds or length whether of metal or other material (including but not limited to paper knives, carpet knives, box cutters, letter openers, scissors of any kind, trade man’s tools, screwdrivers, corkscrews and darts) knitting needles; Sporting goods (including without limitation sporting bats, billiards/ snooker/pool cues, catapults).
Liquids containing water, chutneys, pickles, jams are also not permitted.
Items that are liquid, aerosol or gel are subject to the further restrictions:
- Must be 100ml or less
- Must fit comfortably in a transparent, re-sealable 1 liter plastic bag
(Only one X 1 litre plastic bag is allowed per person exception: baby formula or juice if a baby or small child is traveling)
- Medical prescription with the name that matches name on the passenger’s ticket
Following items are not permitted in checked luggage:
- Explosive, munitions, fireworks and flares
- Compressed gases (flammable, non flammable and poisonous)
- Flammable liquids (eg. lighter or heating fuels) and liquids which are easily ignited.
- Oxidizing materials (such as bleaching powder and peroxides)
- Poisons
- Radioactive materials
- Corrosive materials (such as acids, alkalis, wet cell batteries and mercury)
- Other danger goods (such as magnetized materials) as listed in the IATA manual
